What do the pages of this Almanac tell us about life and society in the 1660s? Look at them with the eye of an archeologist! What's interesting about the dates? What differences are revealed between their era and ours on these pages? What similarities?

As you look at this page, take in the details. What languages are on it? What are its words telling us? Even note any different spellings. What do they tell us about the English language in this period? (The first real dictionaries in English, which began to standardize spelling (orthography) weren't published until well into the 1700s!) Do you see that there is Latin and Greek, as well as English? What does that tell us about the education of a person who would be consulting an almanac at that time, versus someone who might consult one today? What about the references to the creation of the world?
