Biography

Peter Osterberg received both SB and SM degrees in EECS from MIT in January, 1980. He completed his PhD in EECS under the direction of Professor Stephen Senturia at MIT in August, 1995 in the field of MEMS and MEMCAD. Peter worked as a research engineer at the Texas Instruments Central Research Lab in Dallas from 1976-1979. He worked as an engineering manager for GTE Microelectronics from 1980-1986 in the field of Semi-custom CMOS VLSI design. He worked as an engineering manager for Digital Equipment Corp in the field of Custom CMOS VLSI design, product engineering, and test engineering from 1986-1991. He worked as a post-doc in EECS at MIT under Professor Jacob White in the field of MEMCAD from 1995-1996. Peter became an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Portland in Portland, OR in August, 1996. He received tenure and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in June, 2002. Peter and his wife, Mary, live in the Grant Park District of NE Portland.
