I'm a physicist working on problems in quantum mechanics, especially:
- Measurement theory (open quantum systems, weak measurement, protective measurement)
- Decoherence theory
- Quantum optics
- Quantum foundations (no-go theorems, the nature of quantum states, and quantum probabilities)
See my publications for details.
While most of my research is theoretical, my students and I also run a laboratory that implements fundamental quantum experiments using entangled pairs of single photons. Our most recent experiments include:
- Quantum random number generation with min-entropy estimation (PDF)
- Measurement of randomness using quantum state tomography (PDF)
- Photonic realization of a quantum Cheshire cat (PDF)
- Delayed-choice quantum eraser (PDF)
