ABET
Accreditation Materials
- Criteria
for
Accrediting
Engineering Programs:
these are the
criteria that ABET uses to
judge engineering programs. An ABET document.
- Self-Study
Questionnaire:
these are the ABET guidelines for preparing a program's
report,
prior to an ABET visit. This document elaborates the
Criteria. An ABET document.
- Guidelines
for Criterion 3: this
document is addressed to program
reviewers (ABET visitors). It gives insight into the
assessment
processes
that schools are expected to follow. An ABET
document.
ASCE
materials
These
materials concern ASCE's recent proposal for accreditation changes to
support its "Body of
Knowledge (BOK)" initiative.
These changes will, in effect,
add three more outcomes to the a-k list for undergraduate programs.
They will also
require
adding a science course (geology, biology, etc.) to the
physics/chemistry
courses of the current civil engineering curricula.
U.P. Civil Engineering
materials:
- Program
Educational Objectives of the C.E.
program, as they appear on the University
web site .
- School-wide
Course
Embedded Assessment
guidelines (Approved by Faculty,
March 31, 2006). The
guidelines give the
process that departments use for course embedded assessment.
These guidelines were developed by an ad hoc Committee on
Course Embedded Assessment during Fall 2006. An Engineering
School document.
- School-wide mapping
of Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) to Program Outcomes
(POs). An
Engineering School document, adopted May 11, 2006.
- Matrix
of the courses
that
address the CE program outcomes
(from June 2003 ABET Self-Study
Report). A departmental document.
- Matrix
of the methods that
are used to assess the CE program outcomes (Draft, May
4, 2005).
These methods
include course embedded assessment, capstone projects, exit surveys,
and alumni surveys. This matrix identifies the "benchmark"
courses that the CE department will use in its course embedded
assessment, and it gives the "designated outcomes" of these benchmark
courses. A departmental document.
- Rubrics
(evaluation criteria) that are applied by
the CE department to assess its program outcomes (Draft, May
23, 2005).
A departmental document.
